Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the party reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
